The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Sunday Morning 9am Do we want God to work in our Church? These are not extreme times or locations! Make the effort to be there. What's been going on?The Riverstone Community Church Brethren Missionary conference: "The Bible is not the basis of missions; missions is the basis of the Bible" -- Ralph Winter, U.S. Center for World Mission "Go, send, or disobey." -- John Piper We had some great, passionate missionaries visit and share, including: Dennis & Kate (South America), David & Julie (Philippines), John & Remy (Philippines), John & Kathy (Ukraine), and Laurie & Margaret Cowell. We also had some other great people share with us about missions from OMF: Calvin Ma and Debbie Farr. Thanks so much to thos who helped us: Ron & Marg Kerslake, Andrew & Rhonda, Kerslake, Ellen Kerslake, Brendan & Kim, Troy & Cathy, Stu & Tara, Peter Gordon, Kyle, BD & Donna, Phil & Robyn, Stu & Carol, Jess Gummo, Matt Gummo We were blessed to be involved, consider being involved next time. Family Camp was a great time to relax together and enjoy each other's company, as well as some excellent, down-to-earth teaching from Ross Brown. So sad for those who missed it! Make it a date for next year. David & Julie and Trent are home on furlough. It's great to see you guys! We look forward to spending more time with you, hearing all about your work, and having you with us at camp. Christmas Hampers: Thanks to all who contributed to the Christmas hampers for the Wards and the Gummersons. It's just a little token to say we appreciate them and the work they do. Christmas Lunch: What a delicious meal! Great to see a few 'gone... but not forgotten' people as well. God bless you all over Christmas. Guess who's coming to dinner: Thanks to Di for organising this one, and to all the people who voluteered to cook for mystery guests. If you've been along to one of these nights you'll know it's a great opportunity to chat, relax (maybe; unless you're the host) and get to know a few people a bit better than you did before. 2DIE4 Youth Event: Check out the scoop and see some photos. more Ladies Katoomba Convention: Ladies who were able to make it away for this weekend were blessed by powerful women speakers, warm company, lovely relaxing accommodation, and encouraging discussion over tasty meals! Although it was freezing weather in Katoomba that weekend, it was still worth it for this opportunity. Family Games Night: Thanks to those who organised this night. It was a lot of fun for all ages. A good time to have family fun as a church body. Scrapbooking Day: This fund-raiser was a really nice relaxed day to do a bit of memory keeping and craft. It included a lovely lunch. Money was being raised for the playgroup room floor coverings. Ladies weekend: This was a weekend not to be missed for the ladies! This year we went to a Salvation Army campsite in Collaroy - pretty swish! There was lots of chatting, walking, shopping, craft, eating and resting going on. For most it was just a great break from the ordinary with time to catch up with friends, encourage one another and rejuvinate! Thanks again to the social activities ladies for their tireless efforts in organising this. Progressive Dinner: Wow, what a night! Di organised for us to all go to a different combination of 6 people's places. Thanks so much to Cat & Tamara, Roslyn & Warren, Tim & Kristy, Dave & Ruth, Linc & Felicity, Nicole Marshal and Di Waller for hosting a course each. A big thanks to the Social team who organised the whole night - what logistics! More Baptisms! Praise God for more young people taking the step to publicly identify themselves as a follower of Christ. |
